Chapter 6: Cold and Tears
After we agree to meet at the empty lot and build a tent with a bonfire, we wait for the boys to buy beers. Lena suggested we need to distance ourselves from the residents because the girls are still prohibited from drinking alcohol and making it more memorable. In the middle of the snow, with bonfire and tent, playing guitar while the stars watching us, and the highlight is playing truth or shot. It’s a scary name, but the shot here means drink the beer.
“Since we’re new from alcohol, I bet even we drink a little we will be drunk easily,” Lena says.
“What now? Are you chickening out?” Oda replies.
“No, just stating the truth. Don’t you think there’ll be one person who needs to look out and don’t need to take part in this game?” — Lena.
“Booo, someone really chickening out.” Asahi replies.
“I’m not! I’m just reconsidering if one of our girls needs to look after us while we playing. Who knows what will we do after we played!” Everyone silent.
“But, if we said the truth, we won’t drink the beer, so why should we afraid?” Yasu replies.
“Not all the secrets will reveal, you know.” — Momo
“Seems like you have a lot of dark secrets, huh?” Lena teases Momo.
“Damare, konoyarou!” — Momo
“I think I’ll be the keeper.” Cecil volunteers herself.
“No, you need to play. I’ll the one who becomes the keeper.” Akihiko replies.
“FOR REAL??” All the boys replied with surprise. “Come on, man! The game won’t be fun if you’re not in.” Asahi says.
“I will be a keeper but with one condition, the keeper can ask but others can’t. How about that?” And they all agree.
Then the game begins. There’re 9 glasses and Akihiko will be in charge of pouring the beer, he’s in the rounds outside. He sits on the left behind Cecil, on the right of Cecil is Nina, right of Nina is Asahi, and goes Momo, Yasu, Oda, Haruto, and the last Lena.
“So, Cecil will ask the first question and then me, and so on. We can direct our question to just one specific person, or all the players. And if the question is general to all the players, they will drink it if they had experienced the question. Understood?” Lena states the rules. “Understood!”
Everyone is so excited about the game and me too. I can’t wait to ask to Asahi. Just to think what kind of question will I ask, it makes me blush, luckily we’re in the middle of the snow, and the cold hides my reddened cheeks.
“Alright, this question goes to Lena. What is your real purpose to join the science club?” Cecil asks to expect it, Lena seems quiet with her thoughts, instead to answer it, she asks for a glass of beer.
I hear a whisper from the boys, “Come on, what so hard with the question.” “Bet there’s a secret between them.” “Such an interesting girl.”
But I bet we the girls already knew the answer. She wants to avoid coming home earlier and see the fighting between her parents. Lena just doesn’t feel want to tell the truth to the boys. Nice moves, Cecil! Never knew she’s a fox.
“It’s my turn. Never I ever kissed the same sex as me.” — Lena.
Of course, everyone won’t drink it! But to my surprise Asahi, Yasu, Lena, and Momo drink the beer. “What? You too Momo?”
Now’s Haruto turns, “I want to ask Lena directly.”
“Oh wow, we just begin but I already got 2 questions.” — Lena
Haruto smiles and continues, “Is there someone that you like among us? And who is it?”
“Hey slow down, you only can ask 1 question,” Lena replies.
But again, instead of answering, she takes a glass of beer.
